Wildlife Victoria has provided the community with a Wildlife Emergency Response service for 30 years.
Every year thousands of native animals in Victoria become sick, injured or orphaned, often as a direct result of human activity. If left unassisted, these animals may suffer and die in pain or of starvation.
Their rescue service relies on an extensive state-wide network of rescue and transport volunteers, veterinarians who provide pro-bono services for wildlife, and the licenced carers and shelters who accept animals into their care for rehabilitation and release.
Donations to Wildlife Victoria’s Bushfire Appeal are distributed to wildlife shelters and carers around Victoria to help rebuild enclosures and equipment that they have lost in the fires so that they can continue their lifesaving work. It also supports those who are struggling to cope with the enormous number of animals that will need care in the coming weeks and months. Your donations to Wildlife Victoria will also be helping to support habitat regeneration projects of more than 1.2 million hectares of burned bushlands in Victoria, so that rehabilitated animals have somewhere to return to when they’re ready to be released.
