
A graduate of The Actors Institute, London, Sally McLean’s acting credits include roles in numerous Australian, British and American television series and films, such as the lead role of “Angie Powers” in the BAFTA Award-winning BBC miniseries Bootleg, guest role of “Stacy” in the AACTA Award-winning ABC TV series Utopia and recurring guest role of “Barb” in the USA Sony/AMC TV series, Preacher.
A multi-hyphenate creative who still works both in front of and behind the camera, her work in screen production began with the BBC in London, where she worked for three years before forming her own production business, Incognita Enterprises, under Honorary Patron, Sir Nigel Hawthorne KB, CBE (1929-2001).
Sally has been a jury member for the AACTAs, ATOM Awards, AFI Awards & New Jersey WebFest (USA) and is the former General Manager for Melbourne WebFest. She is currently Creator/Writer/Director of the multi award-winning web series Shakespeare Republic (nominated for over 90 international film festival and industry awards and winner of over 40 awards to date, most recently winning “Best Director” at the 2019 Côte d’Azur Web Fest in France, part of the Marché du Film: 72nd Festival de Cannes official program), now in its third season.
Her next screen projects as Writer/Director are the mini-series Dark Arcadia and Season Four of Shakespeare Republic.
